Colt started his insurance career at Western States Insurance in 2005. His specialty is working with the mining industry, and is licensed in both Montana and Idaho. Colt is certified with the Mine Safety and Health Administration for surface metal and nonmetal mining operations, and is currently pursuing his underground certification as well. Colt takes great pride in helping his clients be MSHA compliant. He is very active in helping his clients put together safety programs by offering various seminars and training sessions.

Colt was born in Missoula, but was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved back to Missoula to attend The University of Montana and in 2004, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He also played football for the Griz, where he learned a great deal about teamwork. Colt knows the amount of hard work, dedication and the extra effort that is needed to put a good team together. The relationship between Colt and his clients is exactly like a team, working together to come up with insurance solutions to fit their specific needs. He understands and appreciates the importance of hard work, commitment, enthusiasm and dedication.

Colt is also very active within the Missoula community. He is a member of the Young Business Professionals of Montana, is on the board for the Grizzly Scholarship Association, and is a volunteer coach for Little Grizzly Football.
